Drooping eyebrow can make a person look old and obstruct vision, and that is why many people get the surgery done for functional purposes.

  • Endotine brow lift
  • Coronal forehead lift

Why do People go for Browplasty

There are many reasons why people consider a brow/forehead lift. Some of them are:

  • The sagging eyebrows give them a sad look
  • They look angry because the central portion of their eyebrow hangs down
  • They are not able to apply makeup on the upper eyelid
  • They have frown lines between your eyes

These are some of the common reasons why people consider browplasty. Consult an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon to understand the type of browplasty procedure that will suit you the best.

How to prepare for Brow/Forehead Lift Surgery

Book an appointment with your doctor before the procedure. Make sure you talk about your goals, medical history, and current health with the doctor.

Your doctor will evaluate your forehead, including your upper eyelids. After the complete evaluation, the doctor might ask you to make some lifestyle adjustments before you can have a brow/forehead lift.

Smokers are asked to quit smoking temporarily by doctors. Alcohol too should be avoided before the surgery. Your doctor may even recommend you to avoid certain medications before the surgery.

Brow/Forehead Lift: Procedure

Browplasty generally involves incisions in the hair-bearing scalp. However, sometimes incisions are made in the forehead and/or the upper eyelids.

There are many types of brow lift procedures. The kind of brow/forehead lift you undergo will depend on your facial features and aesthetic preferences.

Doctors recommend an endoscopic lift to people who have mild to moderate brow droop and horizontal wrinkles. People are advised to go for a coronal forehead lift if they have deep wrinkles and advanced brow droop.

Your doctor will tell you beforehand the type of surgical procedure that will suit you the best.

The surgery usually takes about 45 minutes. During the procedure, surgeons use local anaesthesia. But if you don’t feel comfortable, you can also ask for general anaesthesia. After the surgery, your surgeon will use stitches or staples to close the incisions. Then the surgeon will cleanse the area properly ad bandage your face.

After the surgery, you may experience some bruising or swelling on the forehead/eyes. Swelling generally goes away within two weeks.  Patients who undergo the temporal lift have mild bruising around the temples for one week.

You must follow your surgeon’s instructions religiously on how frequently to change the bandages and how to care for the incision.

A brow/forehead lift is a simple surgical procedure, but your recovery will vary depending on the type of surgical procedure you had. Your staples or statures will be removed one week after surgery. During the first week, you should avoid strenuous activity. You may be able to return to work within ten days, but make sure to avoid heavy lifting during this time.

Your surgeon may also ask you to use cold packs around the eyes to reduce swelling. You will also be asked to sleep with your back and head elevated for one week. Bruising, swelling, tightness, and numbness are common after the surgery. Swelling generally goes after the fourth or fifth day. Your surgeon may also tell you to be cautious when using hair dryers and combs. This is because your scalp will be numb, and these products may damage your skin/hair.

The side effects of a brow/forehead lift are minimal, and possible complications include infection, loss of sensation around the incision site, complications with eyebrow movement, and infection. If you feel worried about these complications, do not shy away from consulting your surgeon.

Also, you must call your doctor immediately if you have excessive swelling or bleeding or fever that is above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you want to reduce frown lines between eyes, improve the position of your eyebrow and look drop dead gorgeous, then get browplasty done by the best surgeon in Delhi.
